Exciting Classes and Workshops Offered by ParentJobNet

Though we’re still in the icy grip of winter, we’ve managed to make it through the frenetic holidays and resolved ourselves to be better in the New Year. Now this is a good time to end the beginning process and get started. With that in mind, ParentJobNet is proud to offer free classes and a workshop to get things moving towards improving yourself, obtaining employment and the responsibilities that accompany being employed.

PJN - in partnership with Chase - is presenting a Financial Literacy Workshop, “Take Charge of Your Finances, Savings, Budgeting and Credit Management.”  The workshop will be held Thursday January 27, 2011 from 12-2 p.m. at P.S. 84, 32 W. 92nd, Room 132.

As economic belts tighten participants will learn much needed valuable fundamentals about saving money, managing your credit and budgeting.  Space for this workshop is limited. REGISTER FLYER

PJN will also offer a “ESL Class for Non-English Speakers.” Pre-registration and pre-testing will take place on January 31 and the classes will begin on February 7, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at P.S. 84 - 32 W. 92nd Street, Room 132.

In addition, PJN will also continue to offer a Spanish Conversation Class starting Tuesday, February 8, 2011 from 9-11am at P.S. 84, 32 W. 92nd, Room 132. 

This is a free class that teaches parents basic to intermediate Spanish skills to help children with homework and increase employment and career opportunities.  REGISTER  FLYER

Unique Opportunity to Network on February 9, 2011

Everyone would like to be heard, paid attention to or receive acknowledgement. Getting that opportunity is the problem. Whether you’re looking for employment, trying to get a business project off the ground or re-inventing the wheel, having discourse with other people is essential in making it happen. With that in mind, ParentJobNet cordially invites you to evening of “Business Networking - Come Toot Your Own Horn.”  Hosted by Starbucks on 34th Street and Fifth Ave (The Empire State Bldg.), on Wednesday, February 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Event participants will have an opportunity to promote their products and services in a three to five minute presentation. Networking opportunities will follow the presentations and provide the chance to exchange business cards, distribute marketing materials and flyers.

Space is limited. Dress is business casual and complimentary refreshments will be served.
