Dear Friends and Colleagues:
It is my pleasure to announce the partnership of ParentJobNet and Tischen. The partnership is intended to help parents of school-age children and others find job opportunities during the current economic downturn.
Founded in 2004, ParentJobNet is a leading non-profit resource for low- to moderate-income New York City parents, and is designed to help them foster economic empowerment. Tischen is an online service that allows people to create their own web page that displays information about their skills, rates and availability to help them find temporary employment. Tischen was founded in 2009, and posts to both sites are free of charge.
Currently, Tischen focuses on providing job seekers who do not have the means or venue to advertise their skills and availability with a personalized online presence for that purpose. Skills and services on the site range from general help to more specialized offerings, such as carpentry, computer repair, babysitting and more. Those looking for such services can contact a helper directly and at no charge via the helper’s Tischen page.
We feel this partnership represents a great opportunity for both ParentJobNet and Tischen to create synergies to provide economic opportunities to parents of school-age children and others, which is particularly important during the economic distress that we are now experiencing.
Please feel free to learn more about this partnership and download the press release here.
We look forward to a very fruitful partnership with Tischen.
Sincerely,
Pat Craddick
